Teaching Children About Missions

Check out the videos below that highlight Global Workers and Missions Organizations:

Teaching children on their level that the Holy Spirit is using ordinary people to do extraordinary things all over the world!

Mission Highlight: Kathy Mizen, Schools of Hope

Kathy is the director of Schools of Hope. She oversees ChildCARE Plus sponsorships, and tutoring programs, ERDO Nutrition Program and Water Projects. Schools of Hope teaches Bible classes in the public school system of Honduras to over 8,500 children sharing the hope of Jesus Christ.

Mission Highlight: Wycliffe Bible Translators

Bible Translation is for everyone. There are 7378 different languages in the world and the Bible has been translated, at least in part, into 3495 different languages. Since one of the Holy Spirit’s jobs is to breathe life into God’s word, that means that the Holy Spirit is working in ALL of these places. But millions of people still need God’s word in their own language.

Mission Highlight: Linda Veldhuizen, Noah’s Ark

Noah‘s Ark Ministries runs a home for children who are orphaned, abandoned, in need of healthy food, have special needs and need schooling. Noah’s Ark has also provided 700 sponsorships to children in the community and has established a unique special needs school for children with physical and developmental exceptionalities.

Mission Highlight: Restricted Access Nations (RAN)

To reach people who live in countries where the message of Jesus cannot be shared publicly - like how we would here in Canada, in a church, or even with a friend.

Mission Highlight: Thomas Spiridigliozzi and George Werner

Both Thomas and George spent many years pastoring in Canada, but now they are focused on their mission to Italy. Although they still live in Canada they travel often to Italy to help their Italian friends become stronger leaders in the church and community. They love what they do and they get to eat a lot of great pizza and pasta.

Mission Highlight: Zach & Megan Wylie, Lighthouse Learning Centre

To help the next generation in Thailand, through the love of Jesus, to strengthen and help their communities. Imagine Thailand makes connections between young adults ready to help, with places and people who really need help. This means good changes continue and grow inspired by the creative work of the Holy Spirit.

Mission highlight: ERDO (Emergency Relief and Development Overseas)

ERDO responds to big emergencies like earthquakes and war all over the world. They help people access food, shelter, and water in emergency situations. They also help strengthen communities with water purification projects and growing food. Child sponsorships help child- ren needing food, support, and schooling.

Mission Highlight: Sergio & Nancy Bersaglio, Village of Hope

Sergio and Nancy moved from British Columbia, Canada, in 1999 to Kitwe, Zambia, where Village of Hope was first established. Today their main re- sponsibilities include training, support and leadership. They work very closely with national leadership, to develop strong Christian leaders at each Village of Hope location to provide ministry that will run smoothly so that all children are loved and cared for.
