Who Is The Holy Spirit?
8 Week Video Curriculum on the Holy Spirit
‘Who Is The Holy Spirit?’ is a curriculum about the person and work of the Holy Spirit and an exploration of the book of Acts. It is a sequel to the series, ‘Who Is Jesus?’ the familiar faces of Nick O’Demus and Maggie Dalene help the children understand what are often difficult stories and concepts but essential truths for their spiritual formation.
We want children to understand who the Holy Spirit is, the unique relationship the Spirit wants to have in their life and in the life of the Church and understand that the Spirit is still vibrantly active all around the world. There is also a Missions Segment to highlight Global Workers for a view into what the Holy Spirit is doing today all around the world.
Note from the creators…
One Wednesday night, when I was a little girl, I sat in a regular church classroom on plastic chairs with a dozen other kids my age and of course, Mrs. Wiebe. Mrs. Wiebe was a faithful member of the little church I grew up in Essex, Ontario. She was filled with the Spirit she was a prayer warrior, and she simply took the time to teach us about the baptism in the Holy Spirit. On that night there was no fanfare, no band, but I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and it made all the difference in my life! That was my experience, and I would love other children to have the same experience. That’s why we have worked so hard to produce this series.
As children, both my colleague Laurel Archer and I had many opportunities to learn from and about missionaries who visited our churches, and who our parents even hosted in our homes. Our parents taught us to faithfully pray for these modern-day apostles, who we now call Global Workers. And because of these early influences, Laurel actually grew up to be a Global Worker and served in Southeast Asia with her husband for 5 years. Her husband continues to give his full attention to the task of opening doors of opportunity for the Spirit’s work around the world.
So, if there’s one piece of this series that’s near and dear to us it’s The Elvis and Allie Show. This segment highlights a Global Worker or Missions Organization that is partnering with the Holy Spirit to do amazing things all around the world. I implore you not to skip this section. Engage in it. Find a missions partner that your children’s ministry can give to, pray for, and even write to. Our goal is that children all across this nation would be inspired like Laurel and I were to champion missions – giving of our resources, praying for Global Workers and even going on short and long-term trips! It’s our job to call out what we see the Holy Spirit is doing in the children we serve. To help them hear the commission they receive, to walk alongside them in their spiritual formation. I believe the Holy Spirit speaks to children…so my prayer is that they respond with… “Speak Lord for your servant is listening”
We’ll be cheering you on as you walk your kids’ church through this 8-week series. May the Holy Spirit show up in powerful ways.

OVERVIEW
Nick O’Demus will take a trip with his friend Theophilus (Theo for short) to Jerusalem, with the help of Maggie Dalene. As they visit locations in Jerusalem and meet new friends, they encounter the Holy Spirit leading and empowering the disciples and the members of the first church as the message of Jesus spreads and lives are transformed. They are invited to welcome the Holy Spirit into their own lives and be transformed as well because the Holy Spirit’s work continues today through each of us!
